There are those among you who are on the brink of of developing psychic abilities. Some are nervous; others excited. Many wonder how they can develop and hone these talents into worthwhile psychic skills.
One method of directing the development of psychic abilities is by using tarot cards. The majority of tarot card readers don’t use psychic abilities. Although most have a strong, well developed sense of intuition. They have learned to read tarot, apply their knowledge, and combine it all with commonsense to produce quality readings. There is another group who, instead of spending years learning tarot, use the cards as a portal to access their psychic ability.
Here are three ways to strengthen and develop your psychic abilities using tarot cards. All these techniques require you be in a relaxed state of mind. There must be no pressure, no interruptions. Create the perfect atmosphere for your tarot session with a scented candle or incense. Make sure you are not hungry or too full. There should be as few external distractions as possible.
One-card Psychic Meditation
You can choose a specific card or select one randomly. It will help to have a question in mind, but not necessary. Place the card down in front of you. Hold your non-dominant hand a few inches above the card and visualize the energy of the card entering your hand. You may feel a physical response. After a minute or so, place both hands in a comfortable position while you gaze at the card.
Pay attention to the thoughts and sensations. You might find random memories, or impressions floating into your mind. Let them come and let them go again. They will be significant, as Spirit often uses your own past experiences to give your intuition a nudge.
Focus on your question, if you have one, and ask the card for the answer. It might be as clear as day, or you might find your attention drawn to a particular symbol in the card.
Finally ask the card if it has a message for you or there’s something you should know. Then breathe deeply and end the session.
It may have taken ten minutes or thirty – it doesn’t matter. Record your thoughts and impressions. Make a note of any physical sensations. If you asked a question, write down the answer given, however offbeat or obscure.
Psychic Reading Validation
You will need a willing volunteer for this one. Put your cards to one side; you won’t be needing them yet. Have your volunteer sit quietly. Take as much time as you need and request that Spirit – or your guide, or angel – be present. You can either speak your request or ask silently. Relax and wait until you’ve made the connection.
Ask your volunteer if they have a question. Let them speak and wait again. Your mind may be full of thoughts, words and feelings. Begin to describe what you are thinking and feeling. Either give the reading as a question and answer session with the volunteer, or speak in a stream-of-consciousness fashion – whichever feels right to you.
Once you have given all the information you have received, reach for your tarot cards, shuffle and cut the deck. Lay out three cards. Again, wait and be ready to speak the thoughts and impressions that fill your mind. Don’t give much thought to the traditional card meanings – in a psychic reading they are not so important. You’ll be surprised how well the cards support and expand on the reading.
As with all psychic techniques, practice is the key to an expanded awareness. Expect your readings to improve and reach a higher level, the more you do this.
Full Psychic Tarot Reading
You can have a volunteer for this one, or perhaps you'd find it easier to ask them for a question and do the reading remotely. You will record your thoughts at the end, so can email or phone them to her. Alternatively, you may have a situation in your own life that you need guidance with. One suggestion is to record the reading on your smart phone or tablet as it’s taking place.
You are encouraged to set aside anything you know about the meanings of the cards. It will help you if you can spend a few minutes relaxing your mind and body. Use a Switchword mantra to prepare yourself: repeat aloud or silently, “Together Divine Between Crystal” 10 times. This opens your psychic channels, aids clairvoyancy and brings clarity to the reading. Request that Spirit or your guides be present.
Shuffle, cut and lay five to ten cards down in whatever spread you prefer. If you’ve never used tarot, then just lay them out in a semi-circle or in rows. It doesn’t matter as you are not using a predefined spread.
Now, wait. Let your eyes pass over the cards in a relaxed way. You aren’t looking for details at this stage. When the thoughts start arising, speak them aloud. Notice if you are drawn to any particular card. If so, direct your question at it and wait for the answer. It’s important to allow these periods of silence – every now and then still your mind with a little deep breathing. Allow your intuition to flow over the cards, picking up information from them.
Next, look at each card in turn. Ask the card if it has anything to offer in response to your question. Again be aware of anything that comes into your consciousness and speak it. When you have finished with each cards. Relax once more and see if any final thoughts and feelings arise. You will know when it’s over, there will be the sensation of a door closing quietly, or a connection being dropped. Thank the cards, Spirit and your guides.
Record or write down how the reading went, adding anything else that comes to mind. Whether you smelled any scents or heard any noise. How your skin felt – did you get goosebumps or a warm glow at any time.
Don’t worry, if nothing comes the first time you try any of these techniques. It takes practice. The more you use tarot to develop your psychic skills, the more adept you will become at deciphering relevant information.
