Am I a Witch? 25 Signs You Were Born To Be a Witch

You feel as if you are not living the life of the person you were meant to be. You are drawn to… something. You can’t quite put your finger on it. Have you ever considered the possibility you were born to be a witch? Here are the telltale signs that you are a natural witch.

Being a witch doesn’t mean you have to practice witchcraft or curse people. You don’t have to announce to the world that you have now taken up the mantle of a witch. You could express it in the smallest of ways: become aware of the moon cycles, grow herbs, begin to live a more natural, greener life. No-one has to know that you are growing into the true expression of the real you: the witch that is desperate to emerge.

Born to be a witch

A witch, quite simply, is a wise woman. A woman in tune with the earth and her soul. She may have psychic abilities, or feel that the dead are existing close by on another plane. Dark places hold no fear, creatures of the night seem like friends. Animals and babies are drawn to her. A witch knows that the world is a crazy mix of positive and negative. Not black or white, but shades of gray. She does not accede easily to authority. She believes that everyone has the right to do as they want as long as they harm none.

25 Signs You Were Born To Be a Witch

  • You feel it. As you read the words above, you just knew the idea of being a witch resonates with you. It’s as if you suddenly tapped into the certain knowledge of who you really are.
  • The idea of being a witch causes you to feel as if you are reclaiming your heritage. It’s a connection back through the female line, way back to your ancestresses.
  • You have a strong, well developed intuition. You just know stuff. You follow your gut feelings and they are rarely wrong.
  • You aren’t fazed by death. Those who have left their bodies are right here in spirit and have simply returned to be part of the whole, as we all are.
  • Your femininity isn’t defined by fashion and trivialities. It wells from you like an inner strength. It’s not pretty.
  • You know that your sexuality connects you to the cycles of the earth. Its raw power has an energy you can use. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.
  • You believe in magic and things you cannot see. Energy can be manipulated and used for good as well as bad. You feel energy pulse through and around you.
  • You can neatly determine the atmosphere of any place or gathering. In certain places you feel a connection as if you have been there before.
  • You have strong views and aren’t afraid to express them.
  • You are attracted to the bizarre and fascinated by people who are different.
  • You like to wear black, and prefer your clothes to be made of natural fabrics.

  • You understand that the deeds you do are returned to you, threefold. You believe in karmic law.
  • You are attuned to the seasons.
  • People like to tell you things, share secrets, worries and their inner thoughts.
  • You prefer cats to dogs – mostly. You like all animals generally, it’s just that you admire the couldn’t-care-less attitude of cats.
  • You like making connections between past and present. You feel that the past is embedded deeply in your being. You feel the pain endured by your ancestors keenly. In fact, you may even experience unexplained flashbacks – from previous lives.
  • You are observant. You notice signs and omens. You are able to immerse yourself in your own senses.
  • You love storms and wild weather. You want to go outside and lift your arms to the sky.
  • You are attuned to the phases of the Moon. The full moon fills your heart with love and replenishes your soul.
  • You are able to manifest what you want. You’re not sure how you do it, but you know when your magnetic power is working.
  • You believe that learning is a calling and you love to learn. All the time.

Now You Know You Are a Witch

So, you feel this extraordinary connection, this power within – what are you going to do with it?

You can connect with others like you. Witches love technology so the Internet is like a second home to them. Find groups of like-minded people, confess you are new at all this and you’ll be welcomed into the fold. If you are lucky, there may be a gathering (a moot) near you. Go along, you’ll be surprised how friendly people are there.

You can research. You can read about witchcraft (witches are renowned for their extensive collections of witchy books). You can teach yourself about the things that fascinate you.

Focus on one particular aspect of magical work. Perhaps you’d like to learn tarot or develop your healing skills.

You could decide to be a solitary witch. One who practices alone. Turn your home into a magical retreat. Create a witchy garden. Grow herbs. Make potions.

    Ok.. I need counsel.

I love all animals and most like me.  I go fishing and I swear the kids seek me out,  then proceed to talk my ear off.. (I can be in the middle of nowhere. No one would believe me except I left my husband on the other bank & the kid literally followed me all the way back..) or in a store and the next thing I know an elder is telling me their life story.  Babies stare and smile.  (I'm not much of a baby or kid person. So anyone that knows me finds it funny)

I've grown my own herbs for a few years now.  And this year was the first time I've actually taken a vacation sort of speak..  And bam!!! Crystals & charkha.. Stones of all sorts like an addiction. Oh and the beautiful pendulums..  (stones that can speak!)

Return home and coincidence after coincidence hit me like a ton of rocks.  Still a bit freaked.

Not quite sure what to do  next.  But do know that I need to be safe about it.

You are perfectly safe, Ann, you are simply being offered road signs along your journey. Children and animals are attracted to those with a clean, happy energy field. And you are drawn to crystals for the same reason. Carry on exactly as you are, remain open and the opportunities to explore further will present themselves to you.

Perhaps you could try doing some energy healing? Next time your husband has an achy neck, shoulder or back, just rest your hands lightly on or above him. If you feel the need to move them to manipulate the energy, then do so. Learn about energy healing, crystals and all that interesting, witchy stuff.

My abilities scare me a lot of times because they are on point. But for some crazy reason I attract other witches to me and want to be around me all the time and I have to cut them off to get rid of them because some of the things they say scare me..Why am I this magnet for witches that come around me and tell me they are witches..and then I find myself giving them weird advice to heal themselves or rid of evil spells and I don't know where it comes from I never studied or read witchcraft books..can someone help me with some insight please.

Vera, I suggest you begin doing some research. Real witches aren’t supposed to go around scaring people or offloading their mental health issues on to you. So get yourself a good book. Try anything by Lisa Chamberlain. If you make yourself aware of what witchcraft is, then you’ll be able to protect yourself against negativity.

I've always liked Tarot. I remember when we were little kids with my sister – we were always playing with the cards. At one point I actually seriously considered becoming a professional tarot reader, because all my friends asked for a the occasional reading. That dream, however, is on hold for a bit, as I recently went to receive an actual reading from a professional clairvoyant, which revealed that I still have a lot to learn. It's not as easy as I thought! But I will not give up, and you shouldn't either! There are plenty of free resources around the web that are constantly building my knowledge on how to read the cards properly. For the "hard facts", I use learntarot.com – a great website to start, and from there read a few books on Tarot… the rest is practice. A lot of practice! Of course, it's not just "reading the cards", you have to also employ your intuition. It greatly helps to go and get a reading from a professional Tarot reader, but that's not always a possibility, as renowned Tarot readers' fees are usually quite high (speaking from personal experience here). Not to fear! (self-promotion linked removed) Whatever you choose to use Tarot for, I am sure that you will find that it not only offers great insight for your everyday life, but the cards are also a great way to spend your time. Thanks for the great article, good luck and bless you all!

I dunno what i am, but have had abilites since childhood , as i grow older i have got stronger in all of them i can minuplate people things and good and bad angels if you know what i mean….i have used my abilties for good and bad…at a cost.. im flying blind just by doing what i want…i dont know where my power sources actually come from or where, a hand reader touched me got scared said i have nephilim blood and kept asking me to use me to do her ritual stuff with her, i worried about that so didn't. I can also heal people and animals. i get premonitions, i can sense others like me, i have power of seduction and i can astral project to people where they are by thought…too much crap to list… just looking for guidance what do with this.. i stand out like sore thumb can mingle in any crowd anywhere.

I just learned this weekend that my great-great grandmother was a practicing witch and that my grandmother was told by a psychic that she was burned at the stake in a past life. This new knowledge makes sense to me and now, suddenly,  I am starting to understand why I am the way I am. Now I'm not just a weirdo.  I have always been able to sense good or bad people or situations.  I just know within a couple of minutes of meeting someone if they are good or bad and I've only had 1 or 2 slip under my radar.

When I was young, I could hear peoples thoughts. Not everyone, and not consistently. As I grew older, that ability faded, replaced with feeling people's loneliness and skin hunger. I'm not particularly beautiful, but men keep trying to own me. (doesn't work out well for them) it's like I bring ask their insecurity to the forefront, and then they accuse me of casting spells on them to make them obsessed with me. Lol, even if I knew that spell, by that point I just want then to go away.

I can manifest my reality, if the need is great enough. It is exhausting, and I think I'd break if I tried to do it too often. I can see outcomes, and know which path to choose to make that come to pass. I just have no drive, no passion, like I'm missing something vital
