As a psychic, I am interested in this question: what makes it that, every once in a while, I would get a call, and the reading would fall flat on its face? A part of me tries to argue that “they” didn’t know any better; “they” just didn’t get it!

I find, however, that I can’t lie to myself too long about “they.” It is my job to connect with the other, and not theirs! That is, after all, what they are looking for: a sense of connection to the world from which they feel some level of estrangement.

Moreover, if I scratch the surface and choose to be honest, I would have to recognize that “I” was the one that wasn’t connected when I picked up the phone. So where does that leave me? Once again I find myself renewing the decision to know myself and to my own Self be true. When I cannot do that for me, I have no business attempting to advise another.

That is what I am reflected when a caller only stays a couple of minutes on the line: I am not really here. I am hiding some place in a painful memory, and not available to assist another. I only choose to be better at reading myself, so that reading another would come out of the Unity of mind, body, and soul.

What is your take on this? Are you sometimes truer to the commitments you made to another than to those you made to yourself?
In Immense Appreciation,

Thaks for the article. I really like how you said you have to be united in body, soul, and mind. I believe that if you are going to help anyone else you need to be balanced in your own life. I agree with you on making sure you are healthy in body and mind before you even attempt to help anyone else reach that state.
